Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from a reading with Maureen?

I connect with your loved ones that have passed-on to the higher side of life. I like to say I deliver, “Postcards from Heaven.” The most important thing to know is I have no control over who comes through in a reading. It is up to the spirit world who will come in to deliver a message, send love or provide comfort to those grieving. Sometimes spirit loved ones will give information about your life and path here on earth but not always. Our loved ones are here to guide us, not to tell us what to do. You are responsible for your own choices and decisions.
All Mediums are psychic and can tap into that vibration but most readings focus on the comfort brought by showing you our loved ones on the other side are truly happy and continue on their journey which is for their own soul’s growth. I always say to expect the unexpected in a reading. There’s no telling who might pop in for a visit. I am the over-seas operator. I will connect you if you provide the outside line.

Do you tell anything bad?

No, I don’t tell anything bad because I am not God and I’m not given that information. The worst-case scenario is I will tell you to check your tire before it goes flat. Health information will come up if it will help you and protect you in the future, and only if you are already aware of these situations. I believe the “bad” information is God’s info and am not privy to it. Any psychic that tells you something bad is going to happen causing you undue worry and anxiety is not using a full-deck..ha ha…know that there is something called free will that can change the course of what will happen in our lives. We have to make certain choices for our own soul’s growth. No psychic in the world can make these choices for us; they can only provide information on the energy surrounding a particular situation at that given time. Like your underwear, this energy changes daily.

What is a Spirit Medium?

A Spirit Medium is a person who communicates to spirits telepathically in the super subconscious mind by hearing, feeling and seeing visual impressions, symbols, and scenes from the spirit world aka: Heaven. A medium is able to receive and connect with higher frequencies or energies that our loved ones in spirit vibrate on. Maureen says the messages come in her own voice but are the thoughts and impressions of your loved one in spirit. It’s like a car going by at 70 and they're yelling things out the window. It is Maureen’s interpretation of this fast moving information and images that gets transmitted to the recipient in a reading. Her translation is about 80% accurate. Names of the living and of those past are always brought up in a reading. Your loved ones on the other side like to acknowledge who they are, whom they are with and those that are left behind.

Does everyone have this ability?

Yes, everyone has a God given gift of intuition and the ability to receive messages. Some people are more open to this gift. Like any gift such as playing a musical instrument, some are naturals and some need practice. Things such as meditation, yoga, reading spiritual books, listening to development tapes for building psychic abilities, learning how to tune out mind chatter are just a few for tapping into your own intuitive abilities. Ask yourself this, “Have you ever thought of someone and almost immediately the phone rings or you bump into them?” If the answer is yes, then guess what…you’re a bit psychic! We all have it. Now learn not to fear it, trust and let go and watch as this ability helps guide you and your family for years to come. Sounds easy huh, it takes practice. Tell your brain to shut-up.

Isn’t Mediumship against the Catholic Church and Christian teachings?

I’m often asked this question or am in a reading where someone says their mother or father wouldn’t come because it’s against their religion. I myself was raised Irish Catholic and I am still both. I work for the God Squad and have been hired to deliver messages of hope, peace and unconditional love from the other side. I constantly preach that our loved ones need to show us they have eternal life. I see nothing but beautiful healing occur after a reading and that’s anything but evil. I read from the Holy Spirit so we’re both protected!

How can I communicate with my loved ones in Heaven?

You already do when you think of them. Your thoughts communicate with them and they hear you clearly. All you need is to be patient, willing, and not fearful. Forcing it won’t help. I often sit with parents who have lost children and report that they never get signs. I help to point out the very subtle ones such as waking up between 3-4 a.m. when the veil is thinnest between this side and the other side. And things such as driving in the car and not really listening to the words of a song when suddenly the words hit you and mean something special. There are many ways our loved ones send us messages and communicate. We just need to learn how to differentiate between our own thoughts and theirs. How many have been driving and heard a voice in your head telling you to turn around? Much to your surprise a truck or another vehicle is about to slam into your car and you experience a near miss. Now, if you hadn’t turned around you might be visiting your local auto body shop. Our loved ones guide us and the bond of love is not cut because the physical shell is gone. Our spirits are eternal and live way beyond the life of the used car we call our bodies.

Is there a heaven and hell?

Just like life on Earth, people make their lives either a heaven or hell. We create our own realities. God gave us a special gift called, “Free will.” I believe there are different levels of heaven depending on how we lived out our earthly existence. Those who strived to live the spiritual laws of success such as loving unconditionally, trying not to judge others, not getting caught up in material things, and helping others have a much higher vibration around them and seem closer to God or a higher level of heaven. I believe everyone goes to heaven but the so called, “Bad people,” resonate on a very low vibration that I do not connect with. Again, I am not God and will find out with the rest of us.

What happens to us when we go to heaven?

From what spirits I have communicated with have said is that they go through what is called an "orientation." It's a tour of Heaven for a newly arrived spirit. They reunite with loved ones and get to see their spirit guide and other guides again. If a spirit is having a hard time adjusting the other spirits assist like a social worker or therapist would for the living. They also get to review their blueprint or book of life in which we all have to see all that they have done in regards to thoughts, words and deeds while they were here on Earth. From there some take a rest, have get togethers like parties, sometimes spend time alone, some study, some work and some heal from their physical death or leaving a loved one behind. The spirits and we are all the same in a lot of ways yet different when it comes to dealing, coping and handling certain things and feelings. That is what makes all of us unique.

What does heaven look like?

From what I have seen with spirits is that each of them have their own designs of Heaven (a “Screen Saver”). They create their "Heaven" to be whatever they feel comfortable with. For instance a spirit might reside by the Ocean, just as they loved to do here and another might be hanging around a chocolate factory smoking (Yes, chocolate and cigarettes grow on trees in heaven). Watch Robin Williams' character in the movie "What Dreams May Come" and you'll gain a better perspective.

Are my loved ones in heaven still angry with me?

I have not come across any spirit who is angry with their loved one, even if there was a problem between the two people. Each spirit has come through to me with nothing but unconditional love. The reason for it is this, in Heaven you get to see the bigger picture of what your life was here and all that were in it. And also God is nothing but pure unconditional love, so therefore a spirit forgives and many times they tell me to tell their loved one to forgive themselves so that they (spirits) and the living can live life more fully. Have faith that all the crap is left here.

Do animals communicate messages from heaven?

They most certainly do, I have personally experienced it numerous times with me communicating to many people's beloved friends. Amazingly the animal speaks to me in a very human way & their messages are just the same as a human's messages.

If a spirit never spoke English how do you communicate to them?

In Heaven, the language is universal. Spirits that never spoke English, know that I don't speak another language so therefore they adapt to me so I can understand them. The same goes for infants and animals. Communications from spirits are thoughts and those thoughts are universal in language. I often tell the story of the Greek woman I was reading and her husband was coming through. My friend was interpreting, as she is fluent in Greek. He kept saying, “Skussy Malaka.” She was quite happy to hear this but my friend kept kicking me. I whispered to her, “What is he saying?” She gritted her teeth and said, “Shut up idiot!” I let out a gasp but the old Greek woman said, “Now I know it is him, he always said that to me!!!”

Maureen's Bio

maureen hancock

Maureen Hancock,
a certified licensed Asian bodywork therapist, reiki master, stress management teacher and spirit medium. She entered the healing field in 1992 after a serious car accident left her with several broken facial bones and a fractured skull. It became crystal clear that Maureen's angels pulled her from the car and were responsible for her miraculous recovery. No surgery was necessary or scars left after severe lacerations. Maureen believes she has nine lives; having spent three years in the hospital as a toddler stricken with lead paint poisoning. She remained in a coma with acute brain swelling and several brain surgeries but beat the odds and made a full recovery. Both events left doctors at Children's Hospital and Mass General Hospital in disbelief. "Believe in Miracles," say’s Maureen. "I truly believe I have been blessed and have dedicated my life to giving hope to the hopeless, healing to the sick, and "peace' of mind to the stressed- believe in miracles," says Maureen.
